Project Details

Deciding where to put a solar or wind installation means reconciling weather patterns, land profile, grid availability, terrain constraints and a financial model that changes with every assumption. Traditional tools require an analyst to hand-enter those assumptions, which makes the output as consistent as the analyst having a good day. WattWise automates the chain end to end. A GIS data layer performs land profile extraction and geospatial feature generation from satellite imagery.

Weather APIs and satellite data feed solar-radiation and wind-speed yield predictors that return uncertainty-aware estimates rather than false-precision point values. A CAPEX/OPEX engine builds site-specific cost models and payback calculations with sensitivity analysis. And a recommendation engine selects the best energy option by combining suitability scores with financial outcomes — then explains the choice with a full score breakdown, the evidence behind it, and the assumptions it rests on.

Project Research

Explainability was the requirement that shaped the architecture. A recommendation to spend eight figures on a wind installation is not something anyone accepts from a black box.

Every output returns its "why": which factors drove the score, how sensitive the payback is to each assumption, and what would have to be true for the answer to change.

WattWise automates 85% of the site evaluation workload and generates a full, explainable recommendation in under ten seconds — work that previously took an analyst days. Analyst effort dropped 40%, and every recommendation ships with a score breakdown that a stakeholder can interrogate.
